2018 Venture Owner’s Manual 1 Month, 1 Week ago
Yamaha has the new Venture Manual on line if anyone is interested in looking it over.

Another forum was bitching about the valve adjustment schedule and wondering why they didn’t have hydraulic lifters.

Guess they’re not hip to Yamaha’s four valve arrangement, and possibly needing to be synchronized with the adjustment screw for zero lash.

speaking about valve adjustment, does everybody adjust their valves at 15,000. Is it really needed?

I'm over 70k on mine and they've never been touched.

Almost no one and no one has an issue due to not having them adjusted. They are hyd lifters, 2 pushrods per cylinder but 4 valves per cylinder and the adjustment only synchronizes the valve opening between the 2 like (intake/exhaust)valves per cylinder. It is not the typical adjustment like a solid lifter valve train has.

Had mine looked at @ 16000, they were all perfect factory spec.
Now at 40k, not remotely concerned about them.

As far as these 'internet experts' ... see #15 on the parts fiche for the 2018 Venture.

Same design as on our R*'s. I wonder if it is quieter.

The only thing that irritates me about this new Venture of mine is that I now have 3 count 'em 3 oil drains and 2 oil fill spots that all must be used to change the oil.

They didn't make oil changes any easier that's for sure.
