1700 bone stock pms adjustment 6 Years, 10 Months ago

I have an 07 roadstar and everything is bone stock. I purchase this bike last year with 7200 miles on it. I decided today to look at the carb and see if it had been touched as I keep getting the carb fart. Well I found the pms cap was removed so I know someone has been in there. I screwed the pms in to see where it was at. It was at 5 turns out! My question is, what is the standard setting of the pms as I am now at 2 turns out. when I was at 1 3/4 turns out the bike ran okay but I do not want to run lean. Now the 1600 runs with 2 1/2 turns out with a 165 main with everything else the same as the 1700. I can not find the amount of turns out for my bike so I need help on this! Thanks for any help.
