You've heard the expression "It's all in the prep?" That's were you spend your time.

For spraying, I bought two guns (same model). One for base, one for clear.

Harbor Frieght - $15.99 on sale. They worked great. (Really)

Yeah, I was told I needed a high dollar gun by a few pro's and my el cheapo from Northern Tool seems to do just fine. Prep, prep, and more prep!!!! I use the same one for base and clear, but have a 2nd cup that I use only for the clear.

ARE YOU FRICKEN KIDDING ME?

You know how much I've been working on this project, but I just shot the clear coat on the front fender! First coat, so still kind of wet and will need some sanding before the next clear.

BUT OMG! THIS IS BEYOND MY HOPES!!! This is turning out more than I had hoped for.

Sorry for the rant. But I just had to share with my friends.

Looks awesome, but I'm looking at some dimpling? Might just be the angle, but if it is dimpling, you have one of three problems.... 1) your air pressure is a little too high. 2) painting the second coat before the previous coat is hardened ( second coat actually dents the previous coat. Or 3) this is not a well known problem, but if you have anything with Armor All on it, or an Armor All bottle in the area that you are painting in. It's happened to me and it is amazing how it will effect your paint.
