That looks great. What kind of bars are those?Lifeguard wrote:
So the bike is back together and other than a few mistakes here and there I think it turned out pretty good. At least for a first time paint attempt.

Of course in the sun it really pops and in the dark looks almost black. I will try to post a better pic of the completed bike later. Not bad for all rattle cans and in a garage for a first time paint job. If I can do it anyone can.

That's really good for rattle cans. I shot a bike once with an automotive siphon feed in a make-shift garage booth and it was not any better than what you've done. Good Job.

I don't know what kind of bars they are. I believe smokescreens can tell you since he is the one who sold the bike. I think the previous owner put them on.

That looks fantastic. I agree, patience is the most important thing when it comes to painting.

Thanks everybody. Now that I have some experience I would like to paint the other bike but that would include the fairing and more work. Crap now what? Well I have all winter to contemplate that one.

That's what I'm gonna do this winter. Bought an Eastwood dual voltage powder coat gun, picked up an oven for free on craigslist, and bought paint a couple weeks ago. Gonna makeover the whole bike over the winter.

I put the bars on. Dna 1.5" dia and 14" tall. Will require grinding on the outsides of the risers to clear to 1.5" section of the bar.
