#762452 jinxpress (User) Gold Boarder Posts: 792 Are we driving the $ up ? 3 Years, 10 Months ago   I've been trying to buy a GL1800 shock on EBay for my buddy(have mine). The prices have been going up. Have they caught onto us? Are we driving these prices up ? Thinking we should stick together and refuse to pay those high prices. I was able to get cheap prices way back and now i cant. I had to adjust my price on roadwings. I was wondering if you had to increase your $. Your Time and shipping are worth even more bucks. If it's not manufactured by Honda themselves then there has to be "clones" of them out there somewhere you would think? I'm guessing that when they see previous listings have all sold, and for increasing amounts, they raise their prices accordingly. Sometimes it's ridiculous though. I've seen some other RAP units, but I'm not sure what is compatable. There's a used one on Ebay now for $525 OBO. I put this in another thread as well but the general rule of thumb on used equipment is that it is worth around 30% of its BRAND NEW value. Most sellers believe they should only drop the price 30% so there is a large discrepancy in price range there. Ebay is all about what some will pay for an item, not necessarily what it's worth. To reply to TReynolds, I wonder if we sent a unit to our friends in India if we couldn't have one of their plats just manufacture us a run of them? Might be worth taking a look into how much each unit would cost to just produce the roadwing ourselves manufactured to the converted dimensions?
