Re:Anyone riding in the cold? 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
On October 17 four of us rode out of Columbus Ohio headed for Biketoberfest in Florida. When we left it was about 38 or 39 degrees at 6:30 AM. The three guys on HD's had their heated gear on and were all toasty warm. Myself riding my RS I have no heated gear and was wearing long john bottoms on with jeans and full chaps and my upper half had long sleeve shirt with another shirt over, a hoodie, leather coat and leather vest over that. On my head was a stocking ski mask with half helmet and my large gauntlet gloves for my hands.
Not going to say I wasn't cold because I was for sure but when the sun started coming up as we were going through West Virginia the ride was getting better and I knew I was headed for better climate weather.

The ride home was also an experience in it self. We rolled off of the hotel parking lot on Ormand Beach at 5:00 AM and iron butt it home to Columbus Ohio and parked my bike in the shed at just a little past 10:00 PM.

I'm a big wimp and 70. If the temperture doesn't match my age, the R* stays in the garage. 50 degrees here in Ohio and I'm staying in where it's warm.

Wow my wife just scored a HD heated suit for me for $90 last weekend and I just got my battery harness to hook up to the bike. Can't wait for the rain to stop so that I can try it.

If I can do it, you can do it too.

I can do it, but how long before the next change?

Just venting, but...

Even something as big as Google went from Google Picasa to Google Photos and changed the sharing/hosting rules.

So many people are content with figuring out how to get a profile picture up with every comment, but most of our tech articles and history are gone, which is what made this site different than the answer-me-now Facebook site.

Some other free forums just grabbed all the pictures off of PB and kept rolling, but I know there are other challenges with this site.

Errrr....

Girl friend killed her car, gave her mine to use for awhile and drove my CB360 from November until April in Ct. Snow, ice, whatever. That was cold riding. No heated anything except the engine and exhaust pipes. I was so happy when I finally found a car for her she could afford. A Pacer X !!! LOL
