How many experienced web techs are willing? 4 Weeks ago
We've already heard from several people who are willing to help financially to keep the forum going in more than one thread.
That's awesome, but money alone won't re-port the RSC database to a new software platform, nor test & tweak it for relaunch.

So, who is not a stranger to working in some of the code languages required to keep this place alive?

How many people here on the forum:
1. Have some experience working with MySQL or similar DB?
2. Have worked with HTML, CSS &/or Javascript using only notepad?
3. Are willing to help with these functions on a regular basis (maybe an hour or two/week)?

If you fit the bill, please add your name & skills to his thread.
Let's get this ball rolling yesterday!

This fits in here, right? I mean, I can make this fit in here ... right?

I have some experience in all of the above, though by no means am I an expert. I have developed several sites using HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript and have limited experience with bulletin boards. I'd be happy to pitch in if I can help.

I have some experience with those. The commitment of regular time would be my problem. Just not sure that I can do that. But my goal would be that we don't require those skills from.

Is anyone thinking that the
    best
option is to migrate the forum to a current software platform? I posted my thoughts on that it one of the other threads. Personally, I think it's too big of a hurdle, and I'm not even sure it's possible.

I would recommend archiving the RSC as is. In one of the discussion in the Google group Gram mentioned that he would expect to pay between $15 and $30 a month to host the current RSC files. Then we could "re-launch" using one of a variety of current forum platforms. Traffic will take time to rebuild. With roadstarclinic.com pointing to a new platform, it would look to Google like all of the content had disappeared. Unless we were able to build a good set 301 redirects. On the archive we would put prominent banners and such that point to the new site.

Just to see what I could do, I dropped BB-Press onto my Wordpress site, grabbed a free theme, and copied some stuff over. I have about an into it. http://tykesplace.com/ With enough time, effort, a proper theme, and some money we could recreate the look and feel of the current RSC. The community would rebuild the content.
