Let the Buyer Beware! Care to help out? 1 Year, 5 Months ago
Guys, I purchased what I thought were 2-sets of Yamaha Factory standard hand grips from Justin D. Myers, an eBay seller who goes by the name of JDCycles there.

The photo posted on eBay looked just like the standard grips, and were in their original Yamaha factory packaging. The description of the grips reads as follows: "96-03 YAMAHA ROAD ROYAL STAR V-STAR XVZ13 XVS650 XV16 FOAM CHROME HAND GRIPS"

The grips were, in fact, accessory hand grips of a considerably larger outside diameter, and not what I was looking for, as I already have fat KURY hand grips that I am trying to replace. Nowhere in the description of the item was there any mention of them being of a large outside diameter.

This seller will not accept my return and refund my money... and has turned this into a personal pissing contest, disrespecting me by saying, "I'm tired of your threats Harold...you're quite the tough guy from behind a computer!. Be sure to tell your buddies that you're unable to read a description and research part numbers. YOU MADE THE MISTAKE BIG BOY! Sincerely, Justin Myers."

My threat was to share my 'experience' here with you all, as a warning to you, after he refused to accept my return.

My one question to him and you is simply this: What seller anywhere would not strive for 100% customer satisfaction? If you were selling, and the description did not adequately inform potential buyers, wouldn't you want to make them happy, and fix the description of the item???

So, since I don't know how anyone could contact him, to let him know that you don't 'dis' a Clinic brother, and expect to sell to others here... would you please make a note not to buy from this guy, should you ever see an item listed by him. And, feel free to reply and keep this up here for awhile, as a service to all our brothers here.

If you are a member on another Yamaha cycle forum, please feel free to share this 'vendor's' name there as one to be avoided, as he is not a straight-up seller, but will keep your money, if you are not satisfied with what you purchased.

Wish I knew how to get his business email to post here, so you could gently inform him that you will look out for him, and not buy from him in the future... about 30 or 50 such contacts like that would really grab any seller's attention, I would think.

O, by the way, anybody get a set of the early, unweighted hand grips I could buy?

This gentleman has just sent me this:

"You are apparently completely senile...get help sir! You have threatened me with forcing a return on me since your second email. Now you threaten me with telling your motorcycle buddies that I'm a bad seller. You know nothing about customer service or you would not insist upon being a horrible customer. I have informed ebay of your harassment, and I hope you continue sending your pointless and threatening emails so that I can continue to forward them to ebay personel. Just because you're old, doesn't mean you're right!"

Really, guys?

This is Justin D. Myers of JDCycles, an eBay seller who does not accept returns for inadequately described items he lists for sale there.

Worse, if you request one, he'll disrespect you, adding insult to your injury. How long would you be in business with an attitude like this?

You need to report and forward his emails to ebay. They will deal with him.

This fellow doesn't stop...

"Isn't that the beautiful thing about the Internet. You can anonymously write a review about someone or something, while the people reading it have no idea about the character of the person writing it. I m sure the people that know you will take your opinion with a grain of salt, as you have been unreasonable and are unable to admit your faults."

Report him, I will, Shores. This could have been so simple, but he doesn't seem to know the very first principle of good sales! He's got my money, and I have stuff I can't use. Why does he want to make this so hard?

I don't see that he did anything wrong.

I'll Bet that's 'Demon Cycles' in Pompano Beach, Fl using a different vendor name. Sounds exactly how he Bashes his customers.
Google 'Demon Cycles', read the customer complaints, and tell Me that doesn't sound like the same guy.

Tim,

It wasn't that he did anything wrong... until he started disrespecting me, but the description was inadequate, and there was NO way I could have known these were of a large outside diameter. Even the verbal description, on the site he sent me to check the part number, makes no mention of their size.

Was it your sales philosophy to not seek to satisfy your every customer?

If stock 06 grips will do anything for you let me know and I'll send them your way. They did have the weights on the ends but I'm sure there not necessary.

I still say he did nothing wrong. You didn't understand what you were buying. This is one reason that folks have to contact me before buying parts, no ordering from the web. I have the same grips in stock & would gladly answered any questions. He did nothing wrong & yes there are folks here that will not deal with me & it doesn't affect me one bit, you can't please everyone, I KNOW!
