Well although JP Cycles is unwilling to do anything for me I got a response from Shinko today. They had a couple questions and needed a pic of the tire with the dot on the sidewall alighned with the valve stem (which was no problem providing)and it sounds like they are gonna resolve the issue. I say that because he kinda said that in the email and asked for shipping info.

yes, i heard shinko bought all the old yokohama tire molds. i have a good set on my daily rider, glad to hear they are standing up for him on this issue. if dave says its a bad tire , its a bad tire, dude sorta knows his ships!
