Another bad customer service JP cycle. 1 Year, 10 Months ago
Just had my first experience with the customer service at JP cycle. What a POS they are. I purchased a tire last Sept so that I would have it this spring to install during spring maint. Well I installed it yesterday for my ride to Celina tomorrow. The tire is a Shinko 777HD www. Well I went for a ride today and when I got to the end of the Xway ramp at 70mph the bike started to shake violently. I almost went down before it stopped shaking. Well I thought about Docv and his experience with a Shinko777HD. So as far as I'm concerned I got a bad tire. But no problem I bought it at JP Cycle and I'm sure they will stand behind their product. NOT!!!!!!! I called customer service and because I bought it last September, regardless of when I had it installed even with proof of installation (being yesterday) they will not warranty it!!!!! Customer service was a joke. They tried to give me some song and dance about how I may have stored the tire over the winter could have damaged it. Did I mention that JP cycle customer service is a joke and I wouldn't buy shit from them ever again!!!!! Not only do I have a brand new BAD tire but it F&^ked up my trip to Celina tomorrow!!!!!

JP Cycle is not the place to buy anything. They will not stand behind their products!!!!!

That sucks,Bad company policy in my book. Did you take the wheel off or roll it on the jack? any wobble when you spin the tire on the bike?

At low speed you can see a little out of round I guess you could call it. My guess is that with the weight of the bike on it the wobble shows up with a vengeance. I just had it out with the old tire on it 2 days ago and on the Xway I hit triple digits and it was smooth as silk. The only thing that changed was the tire.

Forget trying to get JP to fix the issue, Contact Shinko directly. Send an email complaining about the "bad quality" of their products AND the poor treatment from one of their resellers. Send them a link to the Shinko vs. thread to let them know this is no "just one person with a problem." It would not surprise me that they will offer to replace the tire for free just to avoid the "badmouthing" of their product.

I just sent them a very polite letter explaining the situation and about JP cycles response to me.

I originally thought I bought it at Motorcycle Superstore so I called them first. The lady there was very pleasant and helpful trying to find my purchase info. As she was searching for the purchase she said there would be no problem taking care of it. The only problem was that I didn't buy it from them.

Awww Dave! That SUX! Guess once again, when U get big & popular, U don't have to care how you treat people After they buy stuff from you.
Glad you put your story out there. My opinion so far was just that they were a PITA!

No chance to get a decent tire locally?

That sucks! Too bad you weren't closer to me I'd take my wheel off and you could put it on yours for the day. That's kind of why I buy most of my stuff locally. Sure you pay more but they'll usually stand behind it for you.
