I'm just curious why you bought a tire seven months ago and just mounted it yesterday? Don't take it personally, I'm just a bit confused.... I need a tire, it's bought and mounted in no more than a week....

I had the extra money to buy it (birthday money). I was working on the Eagles bike so dropping everything I had going on with it and tearing into another job when I wasn't going to ride much more for the year wasn't that important. I just figured do it during spring maint. When I buy a tire I don't wait until the threads are showing on the old one so whatever riding I did until I put the bike to rest for the winter was still on a safe tire.

I assume you checked to make sure the tire was seated correctly on the rim. Did you spin balance it or use beads or sauce?

That sucks.

Even if you put it on at the end of last season, the warranty still goes away as the bike sits in storage.

Boats, bikes (up north), sleds and other seasonal stuff. Even with a one year warranty you only really get a few months.

I hope Shinko takes care of you, but that doesn't do anything for the trip.

(This wouldn't be an issue if the plan was to deliver the Eagles bike on two wheels... )

I'm not trying to start an argument here, but put the shoe on the other foot. If you sold someone something that 'could' deteriorate over a 7 month period (either by storage location, or chemicals, or weather, or pressure, etc.), would you be willing to fully guarantee it? Like say you sold your bike to someone and they wanted to bring it back in 7 months and said now it has a noise or vibration in the engine (even though they stored it all winter), would you give their money back?

Again, just sayin'.

I have never had that happen, but I have had good luck with Denniskirk.com where I've bought 90% of my tires.

Don't buy tires off the shelf at a dealership where they are siting on a rack under fluorescent light. This is improper storage and damages a tire. IF you keep a new tire for any length of time, put it in a heavy lawn trash bag to block UV and ozone, and keep it below 76 degrees. It is ok to store on it's tread, or on it's side, but NEVER hang it on anything that puts pressure on the bead.

Sorry for your difficulties Dave. It's not mine, but I'd try to do a traditional spin balance on it. Throw it across a set of folding chairs with the axle propped up on each one and see if it shows good balance.

I have a problem for Dunlop once Dunlap said take it to one of our dealers for inspection turns out the tire was fine I had the same experience change my front tire and the bike hasn't been the same since could be steering head bearings rear wheel bearings etc etc don't jump to conclusions that the tire is bad I am still chasing stability issue I'm one of my Roadies going to try to tweak Titan steering head bearings just a little bit more see what happens

If we are to believe what Dave said, and I see no reason not to, the only change was that of the tire. It also came on at speed.
IMO tire, brakes or mounting issues have to be the problem. Since Dave is reporting a visual indication of "rubber bubble" I would say that it is most likely the tire.
