Sounds good Lyndon. My room is available to share Thursday. Just need to pull in one of their roll always. My wife may join me Friday and/or Saturday. Also, did you contact MikeyC or Jaybo re what they have?

Now I’ll throw this wrench into the mix!

Okay! I have a schedule. If I leave on Tuesday the 10th I can be there on Thursday night. First night in Laramie Wyoming, next day to Twin falls Idaho, then from Twin Falls it's 383 miles to Spray. Friday loop ride. Saturday leave for Newport Oregon to see the ocean, from there turn around and head back east. I would like to go through Pendelton Oregon then to Grangeville and over the pass to Missoula. Then to Deadwood S.D., then home. I also plan to go near Mt. Hood. Any other suggestions let me know. So I need a place to sleep Thursday and Friday night. Hope this works for everyone.

Yep, 580 miles this time. Albany was 730.

There is tent camping room there at the motel, and showers/bathrooms as well. I'll add you to the maybes list! It's a whole lot closer to you too!

Put me down as Tentative. I'll be tent camping, somewhere. I have a couple of other things going on this time of July, so I'll have to wait and see how those get scheduled.

Thanks for the links Steve! I did a quick check and found one of the motels in pendleton already booked up the week before their rally. Has anybody gone to that rally??
Anyway work is picking back up after the holidays...I better get to it!!

Toby and I have been kicking around the idea of extending our riding vacation after the M&G. We both have never been to Idaho or Wyoming... at any rate we are planning to stay out for most of the rest of july at least =)

Tykes_Place or LDofDC could give you some tips on Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.

That would be great =) I was going to pester everyone during our get together for info. It has been so long since we have just kicked around for a few weeks out in the 'wild' with our bikes. Our first summer together with the virago, we just picked a direction, then found a place to camp, google mapped the area, and with a "hey I have never been there before!" off we would go lol
When we have to actually be someplace, Toby usually plans the routes because I tend to want to wander all over , when we don't have an actual destination, I plan the routes because they wind up wandering all over hehe.

On the way to Idaho you can do Hwy 12 east over White Pass to Yakima then take the Yakima River Gorge to Ellensberg, then north over Blewett Pass to Leavenworth and beyond or north from OR along the ID side of the WA/ID border. Fabulous!

Lolo pass between Kooskia ID and Missoula MT is an amazing ride. 100 miles of twisties along the Lochsa River. Worth a detour in my opinion. I even made a video.

Hwy 93 between Missoula and Twin Falls is pretty good. The southern part though the Craters of the Moon is some interesting scenery.

Anywhere in NW Montana is going to be nice. Including the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier of course. That can get crowded in the summer, but the scenery is spectacular.

I ride the POW/MIA Memorial Hwy between Helena and West Yellowstone every year. The southern half of that is the nicest.

Of course there's the Beartooth Hwy between Red Lodge and Cooke City. I haven't ridden that yet, but it's a bucket list ride. I also want to take the ride from the Beartooth down to Cody Wy.

The whole Yellowstone area great. But tourist season in the summer is nuts. People drive like asshats. "Oh look a deer! Let's full stop in traffic to take pictures!!"

Hey LD, You have a bed at the motel in Spray for Thursday and Friday night, without looking back thru stuff I think it is the Cowboy Room. Would love to ride the coast with you but time frames may not work out. I have that Monday off work and figured leaving Spray on Sunday, you will probably be heading East again by then.
Sorry I haven't been involved in discussion the past week, I was off work.
