Now all I need is a decent deal on a fairing. I've been scouring the Net for the last few days and I'm surprised at how little there is out there. You can get a piece here and another one there, but finding the whole unit isn't happening. If any of you guys know of or find a RG fairing in your travels I'd be interested. In the meantime I guess I'll continue working on the fairing design project I started last fall for the 1100 V-Star. I'm kinda kicking myself in the @ss for not making it big enough for the Roadie, but at the time I didn't have one. It not like I need another project but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Not sure of the exact count off the top of my head, probably about 15-20 brackets left now. They are $135 for raw, $165 for semi gloss black powder coat, and price includes shipping to the lower 48. I can also ship to Canada or Mexico for an additional cost.

Very quick reply and shipping, thank you RedneckRodie!
Got my bracket in, picked up a fairing off ebay for $220 total, inner/outer. Just need to grab the headlight, windshield, and make the brackets to mount to the crash bar and I'm good to go!
Trading out the batwing for the RG and excited as hell! Heading to Nashville the week for the honeymoon, but next weekend I'll be putting it together so I can measure out the windshield size needed and I'll be rollin. Will post pics when completed.

As of yesterday I've got the majority of the parts and pieces to install my RG fairing. I tore down the bike last night, so I can start mocking up the brackets today. I'm bummed that I don't have one of Redneck's mounts to throw on there because it would make life a whole lot easier, but shipping to my part of the world literally doubled the cost! I'll see what I can hack together using a few pics of the bracket to guide me through the build. Because I want to use my old passing lamps and blinkers I'll be fabbing up custom mounts for that stuff anyway, so I'll see what I can come up with on my own.
The paint scheme has me a little concerned because I wanted to match the original color, but man that's an expensive option on this Silverado. Color Rite wants $130 for a couple of cans of paint....sheesh! Primer Gray it is until I make up my mind on what I want to do.

I may have to do a build thread on the installation of the Road Glide fairing because it turns out this isn't a simple plug and play operation. I installed the lower fairing mounts and bolted up the inner to see what kind of clearance I had around the forks and wouldn't you know they hit long before you come up against the stops. The easiest solution is to remove the tins on the upper fork area to get the room you need, but since I had just put that all back together I wanted to find another way. My solution was to build an adapter that moved the fairing forward 1 1/2" giving me enough room to keep the stock tins and allow a little more room between the fairing and the cables that were dragging on the inside.
That adapter is nothing more than a piece of 1 1/4" X 1/4" bar stock about 6" long with two sets of holes offset 1 1/2" from each other. All four holes are drilled with a 5/16" bit and tapped with a 3/8" x 16. You bolt the adapter to the lower mounts with the unused bolt location positioned forward of the bolts used to install the adapter. Now when you install the fairing you'll clear the forks and throttle cables making for a much nicer setup than before.
The downside is that with this new position Rednecks main mount will also have to be modified to extend forward that extra 1 1/2".

There's still a few things to get sorted out, but it's close enough that I can at least ride. I'll be replacing the 12" Slipstreamer with a 15" version and adding the Kuryakyn trim piece to the bottom of the windscreen to hold everything in place. I painted the fairing black to start with but that just didn't fit the bike or my tastes, so I sanded that off and shot a white base coat. Using a little imagination I came up with some pearlescent powder and shot a few more coats of white pearl then taped in a set of flames and shot those in clear pearl, these are definitely ghost flames. I have to lay on a few more clear coats and buff it out but even now you'd never know this was a rattle can job. All in all I'm happy with the end product and get compliments on it everywhere I go. Thanks again to Redneck and the other members of RSC for all the help and advice....it was much appreciated.
