Reckless Fairing Buffiting 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Purchased a Reckless Fairing and an 8” Fastaire Aero shield for my 06 Midnight.
The top of the shield is approx nose height.
I have the stock running lights and Yamaha big bar.
At speeds over 55-60, I begin to get quite a bit of buffeting around my head which causes my glasses to buffet.
If I move my head closer to the shield, it goes away. Hard to ride like that.
I have moved the Fairing up and down.
I have tilted it forward and back.
Any one else experience this?
Would lowers help?

I cured mine with a recurve windshield from Clearview Shields.

You need lowers. The airflow is coming from under the fairing near your knees. I made a set from Curt's example, solved the problem. You can buy aftermarket or adapt HD lowers.

Thought about that.
May try to make a set.

I found about 75% improvement when I installed a longrideshield windshield with the recurve. I then noticed with a improvement with updraft buffeting with a deflector below the headlight that was customized by one of the forum members. The rest is eliminated with wings or lowers. But for me the biggest improvement I found was the windshield and they really aren't that expensive. Longrideshields.com

Lowers make a big difference. Taller shield helps as well.

The Aero shield is a recurve unit. The top is on the same level as my nose so I can see over it.
I made some lowers using Lexan and stainless steel.
Gonna test ride tomorrow after the roads dry from today’s rain.

By any chance, do you have a pic of the deflector under the headlight?
