Installed mine in 2010. My windshield was busted by a rock thrown up by a truck, saved my ass. There is a glass shop here who has cut me three different heights, and styles out of Lexan, it will not bust. He charges me $22.95 +tx, for each one he has cut me, whether clear or tint. All they need is a pattern.

Is the $350 fairing without the fairing have the brackets that bolt directly to the Roadie and what color is it?They come in black gelcoat, but can be painted to match your bike for an extra fee. They come with brackets, but you have to have the Yamaha OEM Silverado windshield mounts.(I think you meant to ask about the fairing w/o the stereo).

congrats on being a dealer! ditto on the reckless and I have a freedom windshield on mine. pricey but worth it I think. its thick enough so it doesn't vibrate at higher speeds and just enough upsweep to help with the buffering plus the warranty it for life against breaking. in normal conditions

Does the reckless fairing have the star emblem up front? That looms nice.

One problem I encountered with my Reckless fairing during my recent trip. Since the windshield provided by Reckless is flat, you have to bend it slightly to fit the fairing. This pre-loads it with stress. My windshield quickly developed a stress crack starting at the middle slot (the site of the most stress). I hit a unexpected sharp pothole on I 40 that transmitted such a hard jolt to my bike that the windshield split, and the pieces threatened impalement. I had to remove the shards and replace the windshield with a H-D shield ($175) to continue my journey. Otherwise, both the E.D. standard seat and Reckless fairing (minus stereo) worked out quite well!
Just a heads up on that. I am currently looking at getting a windshield line that works with the reckless. I have already been approved for Klockwerks but am still looking at Long ride, Clearview and Cee Bailey. All offer a flip that lifts the wind about 3 in above where it sits. Will post later on this.

The brackets are included. What is optional is paint, trim pieces, wind defectors, 12 volt adapter. Comes gel coated black.

I bought my '01 Midnight used. I think it might have been 3rd hand. It has a Memphis shades- Memphis Fats windshield on it. The bracket on the bike has 4 "slots" that the windshield fits in. I don't know if that is a OEM Yami bracket or not. How could I tell if the reckless would fit without ordering one then having to get a different bracket or sending it back?

You will need the OEM brackets . Here is a set on CL for $ 30 .00 http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/mpo/5189459476.html

I have some left in the budget, and was thinking of a fairing. I don't want a stereo, but I do want to use the space for storage of my goodies. My first question is, how close is the blk gel coat to the Raven of the midnight Silverado?
