First Brake down 5 Months ago
Had to get a taxi home and get the trailer.
Something electrical is wrong ! Battery was dead but found the terminals loose so I tightened them up and charged the battery.Next day went for a ride it started great at the first stop ,second one not so much. After a lot of pushing and jumping on trying to jump start it ..it actually started!!!
Started home and almost made it . Riding along it went dark and came back right away then a minute later quit altogether😩
Anyone expirence anything like this ???

*break

Sure.

All 12 volt charging systems are susceptible.

You’ll need a volt meter to figure it out after reading the link.

Are you sure the battery is good? Yes the terminals may have been loose, but that doesn't mean the battery is worth a crap. Charge it, and let it sit for a day or so, and see what the voltage is. It should still be in the 12.5 range, at the least. Even better, charge it and take it to a store that sells batteries, and have them test it. How old is the battery?
The battery may not be holding a charge, or have an internal issue.
The Stator may not be charging properly.
You may still have a loose connection. Check the ground where it connects to the top of the oil tank, and the positive where it connects to the starter relay as well as the battery lugs. Pull the connections at the battery, and use a wire tooth brush to clean the terminals on the battery and the lugs on the wires, and then reconnect and tighten them.

Re:First Brake down 5 Months ago
That sounds like the problem I had recently with two batteries from Batteries Plus Bulbs. The positive terminal connection inside the battery is really weak. Starts out intermittent. If it doesn't start wiggle the terminal until the gauge needles sweep and hit the start button. Get a new battery as soon as possible. A 3 mo. old battery went bad in Fruita, Col. on labor day. My riding buddy searched for a new one and found a Battery Plus Bulbs in Grand Junction. Got a new one for free. We installed it very carefully and 3 days later it went bad in the middle of nowhere. A good Samaritan pulled over to help. We cut the cover over the positive terminal and used a pocket knife to make a small hole in the soft solder and inserted a small wood screw that held the inside part of the terminal in place. Got me home to Washington. Took the battery to the local store and all they gave me was half the price on store credit.

Anybody else have a problem with Battery Plus Bulbs.
