my decompression solenoid went out on my 2003 RS*. so right now I have the cover removed and am lifting the spoon to manually decompress the cylinders while I am starting it. Does anyone know of a cheaper aftermarket solenoid instead of the $195 one?

Here's one maybe.... not new but it might beat paying $195. I'm interested too if there are any aftermarket ones. I didn't see any come up.

I read a few posts where the solenoid stopped working only to find a broken wire about 6” from the part.

Seems there is a connection under the sheath in that area that failed.

Probably worth a look.

Here’s one post.
