Hey guys,
I opened my instrument cluster for what I hoped would be the last time so I could try to clean the lcd connection. Apparently I must have gotten the connection loose or dirty or something because the lcd screen would show the mileage but it was faint most if the time but visible at other times. Anyway, I cleaned around the connection with alcohol on a cotton swab. I'm not sure if that worked or not but while I was putting the cluster back together it slipped and I must have grabbed the dang speedometer needle which then promptly broke off. Yall may recall I had a bad experience and broke the dang fuel needle when I first took the cluster apart to take the uv filter off the lcd. Seems I may have been better off leaving the damned thing alone with the uv filter curling up on the lcd screen and the pointers occassionally sticking to the posts. No good deed(repair) going unpunished I guess. Sooooo, now I'm needing a new speedometer needle because the plastic base that fits over the pin nows has a piece cracked off. I'm going to try to glue it back but I thought I'd see if anybody has one I can buy. Sure hope I don't have to open this instrument cluster back up again. If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all:(
