I just drain while on bike and leaning. Then fill back up with quantity that I measured as per the manual. Not real difficult.

I use a motorcycle jack on mine to do the job and it appears to be fairly level to the point where I never agonized over it. Before I got the jack I would simply put a block of wood under the highside frame rail, push the bike off the kickstand onto the wood block then with my foot slide another wood block under the kickstand side frame rail, then ease the bike down. Now it's elevated and level for the price of a couple blocks of wood. I can do it by myself but having a helper slide the second block under and position it is a lot easier. RonK wrote:

So let's see. One hand on the right handgrip, one hand on the left grip, one hand to hold the funnel and tube, and one hand to pour the oil. Okie, dokie. LOL!

Deny everything, admit nothing, demand proof, blame the new guy.

I think BikerRon is suggesting to drain and add back at least the recommended amount and maybe a little more. Then, with the small check hole plug out, sit on the bike and stand it upright. Watch and wait until any excess, stops draining(dribbling) out of the check hole. When it does, lean the bike back over on the side stand, wipe up the dribble on the case, and reinstall the plug and fill hole cap. Easy peasy.

Sounds like a good plan. As I said, the manuals don't suggest that way, but RSC members can often come up with a more practical way. Then too, you are less likely to overfill with the more likely chance of blowing a seal.

You're not the first, Ron. It's just so darned easy to lean it on the stand and git-r-done.
I think we've even had somebody add to the bottom of the fill hole before.
