Hard saddlebags 6 Months ago
Is there a way to tighten the hard saddlebags on my 2014 Silverado ? One seems a little loose and I saw a guy loose one and don't want that to happen to mine.

My '08 has 4 bolts that mount it through rubber mounts. So it will move a little but not much. Make sure those are tight. They bolt to the bag bracket. If that's loose you'll notice the rear floorboards or the backrest is loose as well.

If all the bolts are tight you might take it off and inspect the plastic around the rubber mounts to make sure it's not cracked and flexing.

Not a common thing if the mounting bolts are tight.

can't imagine not having a heads up if a bag got so loose as to lose it.

The bags will flex some because of the rubber bushings(there should be a steel core piece, the bolts pass through), but I can't see one coming loose unless some one skipped something important, like ....well?....the bolts.

Never a problem on my 08. Make sure you have the four rubber bushings and four metal bushings in each hole. I've never even had to use loctite. My bolts seem to get tighter. Use pink duct tape if you are concerned!
