5/16 ID, will be fine and fit inside the spring protector. You can get the fuel injection rated line, if you think it’s necessary.

Pipe, Fuel 1
5VN-24311-00-00

$7.42

That line has a 180º bend in it to go to the filter inlet. I'm not sure if you will be able to get a straight store bought hose to bend that tight even with the spring on it.

It works. I’ve got the pipe on one, and just hose with the protector on the other. No issues.

Retail on that fuel line (5VN-24311-00-00) is $12.11
Get it for $10.22 @ http://www.BuyYamahaParts.com

No minimum order & free US shipping with code FREESHIP18

If you find it cheaper anywhere else, you better check the shipping $$.

I'm just running the parts store line on both ends of the filter with the springs around the petcock end.

According to your profile you are pumpless. Are you using the stock filter under the pump cover or are you using a small aftermarket filter running strait from the petcock downward to the carb?
