Thanks everyone for the suggestions but Erbman was correct, the battery was bad, took it to the parts store and tested it, it was bad..purchased new battery, put it in and started right up running great again. This is great to have all this knowledge available to help everyone out.. Hopefully some day I can pass the knowledge on I am gaining from all of you. Thanks again

When my relay was bad and I jumpered across it, the bike would start a couple of times, but then would only turn the starter a little. Assume I had drained the battery a bit. But I could get it to turn over easily by pulling out the decompression solenoid spoon while cranking. A bit of a challenge to reach across the bike with the right hand to pull out the spoon while simultaneously jumpering the relay with the left hand, but it works!
