You can adjust the gap very easy as long as you don't use anything to pry between the center electrode and the ground electrode. You need to only adjust the ground side. Most of the little round key chain gaping tools that they sell have a notched spot on the side of them that is made to hook onto the ground strap to bend it for adjustment. I have even used pliers to grab the strap to widen the gap and carefully tap the strap to close the gap. Just be gentle when putting anything between the gap to check it. It's really no big deal to gap them. here is a good example of the tool for gaping

didn' mean to keep anyone hanging for this long. i had to send my gauge back to innovate. i started the bike, the gauge did its sweep and then just went blank. i called innovate during spring break and they said that i would have to call back the next week because they were closed during spring break. what a job,,, lol.
i got my gauge back and just finished hooking it up. give me a couple more days and i try to figure out what jets to run with a barons neddle.

ok ,, after running my bike for two weeks with the afr gauge ,here is what i have come up with for those of you running with the barons jet kit. my main is a 167.5,but i guess you could run what ever main that u care to, if i understand correctly the main only comes into play when your wot. i am running the 40 pilot jet,the barons needle set on the forth clip from the blunt end clip spacer,no washers.my pms is at 2 1/4 turns out from a light seat.
at 60 mph ,the gauge is reading 14.8 to 15.2, around town running 45-50mph it is reading 14.2 - 14.5. at idle i have it set to read 13.4 .
just rode 240 miles today and got about 44 mpg.averaging 65mph.

Re:installing a wideband A/F gauge. 3 Years, 9 Months ago
I went out on a ride today and thought about what my afr read on a wot. i think the reading a mentioned earlier was with the 170 or 172.5 jet. i left from a light and pegged her in every gear and the lowest ratio i saw was a 13.0. but there are times when i see 12's but that is usually when i am in to high of a gear for the speed i am doing. example 4th gear doing 35 when i should be in 3rd. hope this all makes sense.
davej,,, just wondering does your gage read a steady # or is it always fluxuating?

It is constantly moving in the 10ths column. That is normal for this type of gauge.

I've been following this for a while.

Yesterday, I scheduled a Dyno Tune as I'm just not happy with the mileage. However, after a few PM's with davej and re-reading this thread, I think I may cancel the Dyno and install an AFR.

Smokes, can you help with he o2 sensor installation details again for a Freedoms 4"?

Hardone2get, can you comment on how your LC-1 and Speedhut gauge worked out?
