If you want to use the Speedhut gauge then this is want you want ... LC-2

The LC-2 is the upgrade to the LC-1. It seems that the LC-1 kits sans the guage are in short supply now that the update is available.

Doc

So Doc with that LC-2 would this be the gauge I would want to purchase from speedhut? A/F gauge

No.

The LC-2 is from Innovative so you want the gauge for the Innovative controller (Innovative Controller) which would be ... GR-AFWB-01

Im sorry but i dont have a pic of the back of the gauge. I like my idle at 13.5 and my cruise speeds at 15. 15 is pretty lean for a air cooled bike so i might drop it down to average the perfect mix of 14.7.

13.5 is max tq/power
14.7 is a perfect mix where all the gas and air is used up
15.4 is max economy but is hard on a air cooled motor.

hey jason,,, just wondering where your figures came from. i can get mine to idle at 13.5 and even run around town with the 14.7 no problems . i just can't run 65-70 on the interstate and get any thing over 13. i have already dropped the c-clip to the 3rd notch from the top. running a 40.0 pilot jet and a 172 main and the pm set at 2 1/8th out from a light seat. i think in the morning i will try a 37.5 pilot.

Dropping back to the 37.5 may do the trick. Smokes was also running a 170 main jet on his HSR and stock carb. also did you check the float height? When you say 3rd notch from top are you looking at the flat end as the top?

yes i am at the 3rd notch from the blunt end. i thought about dropping the 172, but figured the main didn't come in to play till close to 3/4 throttle. i'll keep that in mind if dropping to the 37.5 doesn't help. ohh,,, i am also running the 32/65 pulley setup if that comes into play. not sure if does or not.

Dropping to a 170 main will do more than what you are thinking. The main jet is in the mix all the time. As far as AFR readings I run mine at 13.5 idle, 13.5 - 14 around town in 3rd gear 35-40 mph, it goes closer to 14 when I shift to 4th at 35 -40. 70-about 73mph I'm at high 14's to 15 or so depending on wind conditions. after 73 or so it drops to high 13's low 14's. I'm using a Speedstar needle it's a little fatter than Barons 180 main 40 pilot. If your WOT drops to low 11's or lower you can use a smaller main. I have no idea what effect if any that the pulley would make

thanks dave,,,,, yes when i am wot the meter does drop to the 11's. i think i keep the pilot alone and try the main first. then go from there with the pilot . while i'm in there i will double check the float bowl.

This will be interesting to see exactly what jets a Barons needle takes to dial in correctly.

well i did the best that i could with out being able to get my hands on a 37.5 pilot jet. doesn't seem correct but i was able to cruise around 70mph with a ratio of 13.8-14.2. needle at 3rd notch from the blunt end ,spacer ,2 washers. i used a 40 pilot and ended up going way down to a 167.5 main. i have to order a 37.5 pilot, nobody seems to have one locally . makes me wonder how the yamaha stealership and the harley shop can say that they can tune your bikes for you.
