Thanks BR, I have Baron`s kickback risers. Found an outstanding price on a KOSO Tach, and also ordered a Kuryakyn P-Clamp to mount it. $65 all. Most of the KOSO Tach`s listed on Ebay and Amazon from $125 to $165. I`ll have to let you guys know how it works out. It`s like slightly over 3". I should have no trouble seeing it. Had it on my Vstar 1100 for 3 years and switched it to my Roadstar this past winter. Has worked flawlessly. I did a google search and lots of hits showing the Barons. Mine has the 2.5 inch face, and the clamp part molded right into the case body. It can be moved anywhere on the bars. The thing that bugged me when looking for a dial/gauge tach is I couldn't find anything with a smaller range. Everything I found had the 8k RPM scale. Riding at redline and you're only using a little more than half the gauge, and cruise a little more than a quarter of the scale.
