TOPIC: Carb slide?

Carb slide? 1 Year ago  
I was removing the air box when I noticed that the black slide in front of the needle was half way up, is that the proper position or is it stuck? It would move up but not down. I took my finger and taped the bottom of it and it went up and came back down to half way. I noticed that there was a groove (track) that is runs in that goes to the bottom of the carb. This was when the bike was off. Thanks for any info on this.

It does not completely close off the throat. If it is resting back to the same place every time and runs smoothly it's likely just fine.
