Just don't get 1 that is 3 inches thick cuz it will knock you in the mother Lovin knee like the stupid OEM air filter bangs into dang knee POS. At least on a carbureted bikes it bangs into your knee maybe the fuel injected models are different different clearance

The intake must not stick out as much on the FI bikes. The stock box and cover does not interfere with my knee at all.

I can say that the 3 inch K&N 067... does not even stick out as far as the stock air box... I just installed one and it is no where near my knee.... It fits perfect on my 2012

Does it stumble off idle? How is the sucking sound? Bad?

No stumbling whatsoever... You can hear it sucking at idle but once you get cruising you can barely notice it.. I personally feel that it's helping more than hurting

Okay AJUSA didn't have the RA-066V in stock, but I got it through Amazon. I got the FILTERWEARS Pre-Filter K136K Water Repellent Fits K&N 22-8017 6.00"T x 2.00"H from Amazon too. Hopefully that works in the rain.

Re:K&N; RA-066V on FI 1 Year, 8 Months ago
Well, long story, but the RA-066V is installed and although there is a Air sucking sound, the performance has not decreased, and maybe even increased, though I have no way to measure that. Two things to note. Don't overtighten the clamp as the rubber rips... don't ask I just know. The other is that the filter come with the K&N upside down or properly upright depending on which one you get... again don't ask

After it all, it looks good and with the rain guard, it should be fine when it rains. I love seeing the engine. Gas mileage was 40+ with 2-up for 155 mile until fuel light came on. Throttle response is very good. Basically the stock filter is off the inside of my knee and I don't think I lost performance and I got a look I like as well. Problem solved. Now on to the Racetech front springs and 10W oil. The dive is so bad when 2-up and hard braking is needed.
