Yeah I was just reading your thread about it. I think I will, Might use the 680 retaining compound instead though.

Mine has no washer on it so I was thinking I should order one, but were the early ones sent out with no washer or was it lost over the years? Saw where they use a conical washer now, so should I upgrade?

I think the easy answer is get the one currently in Yami's stock as the one that goes there.

Since I glued mine all up about a year, and some thousands of miles, back... I'm DEFINITELY going to pull the cover this spring, and check on it once again.

I do hope that all is still well!

Is it the O ring (#23) that would cause weeping? The inside of the cover area is all greasy/grimy and there was oil film on the pulley shaft. The oil seal (#22) looks fine.

My other question is what is the correct part # for the 33 tooth pulley?

Thinking I might just replace the current 33 tooth for a new one to hopefully tighten it up more.

So I bought some Loctite 680 Retaining compound on the pulley and shaft put it all back together with a new lock washer and torqued it all down to a perfect torque reading of 3 long blasts of the impact gun. I let it sit and its now very tight with no play. I will take a look after I put a few miles on and see if it stays tight

someone correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems that I read on here before not to use an impact wrench on this nut to tighten it. Didn't that cause some type of damage to the shaft that it bolts onto. Either cracks it, or causes it to break later on down the road.

No. As long as you didn't strip the threads or crack the nut.

didn't mean to worry you, just seemed like I remember people having problems with the impact wrench.. better to find out now than while out on the road.

You didn't bust your nut did ya?.... LOL

Well hopefully it doesn't break on the road! While I have busted a nut countless times before, it wasn't one on the bike :
