I don't understand his statement about possibly experiencing detonation if the TPS is disconnected. The TPS doesn't reduce the timing below the base setting (WOT), it only causes it to be advanced more during light throttle cruise. Unless he means that the engine might run hotter with the lesser WOT timing during cruise.

Until the valves start to float and the springs start to harmonic. I installed the 1700 igniter and the increase in RPM before hitting the rev limiter is just about as far as I want to go with no engine internal mods. Worth it for the RPM increase for sure

I just installed a Dyna 3000 unit, I am pretty convinced I now have a better running set-up.
Although I'm pretty sure it is a known issue.
