Welcome, conyoman.
theclarks is giving you good advice.
O2 Sensors(good)
AIS(bad)
Fuel processor(bad)
Follow that recipe and you'll be happy as a clam again.
Just remember to unplug/re-connect the battery to reset the ECU before you're ready to fire it back up.

ok I want to confirm what I'm reading here, I also have a '08 1700 FI bike, I have the stock air box and the AIS is still on it, for now, bit I have Hard Krome K2 pipes, the O2 sensors are in and hooked up (I will be confirming this in the next day or so) and want to switch to a LA Choppers Air Filter and remove the AIS....you guys are saying that I will NOT need to put on a Cobra fi2000? or any other kind of fuel management setup correct?

That is correct. One of the members here (River) even installed a AFR gauge on his FI bike to confirm that the AFR reading are OK with air and exhaust mods w/out a controller. His readings confirmed this. The stock ECM & o2 sensors can and will correct for the changes.

I have a 2008 Roadstar with 1700 FI, and I put on a fuel manager as well. I didnt have anything but issues. I am running mine without the AIS, k&n in stock filter box, and 3" roadburners.

Once again, with the exception of steady cruise the stock ECU will not correct for volumetric efficiency changes in the FI engines. Increase the airflow through the engine during acceleration and it will run leaner. I'm not just saying this, it's in the Yamaha fuel injection manual.
