One week without my Roadie 3 Years, 10 Months ago
Seven days without a Roadie makes one weak. Its been seven days since I transferred my Roadie to my youngest son, and took his Honda 750 ACE.

The main thing has been me trying to get into 6th-7th-, and 8th gear. It sounds like I'm riding a bumble bee at sixty.

I mounted a windshield, lowers, and road bar lowers, so took care of the wind. Put on a backrest, and redid the factory seat, so my ass is happy.
Put the Harley trunk on so I still have a place to store my marriage license.

The lighter weight suits me better since I am long in the tooth, and short on money. Am now completely out of debt, which is a good thing.

The bad thing is...It won't go in that 6th-7th, and 8th gear, but hell..if I keep trying it may go if I don't break the shifter off first.

I still have a lot in common with friends on the clinic, such as...well...Bacon and carbs!

I feel for ya Brother. When the day comes I've already decided that I'm going to a trike.

If it has a belt or chain drive, have you thought about changing a pulley/sprocket for a higher ratio?

Knowing that your son has a great bike should help

I owned a 98 Honda ACE 750 first thing I did was go with a smaller rear sprocket.

37 tooth rear sprocket is popular on the chain drive bikes.

Yep. Works fine. First is pretty low down there on those.

Ok, thanks for the tip, I have one ready to order off amazon, its a JT1304 38 tooth.

By the time I get that done, it should be a pretty good bike.

10w fork oil 10mm higher than stock and a set of Progressive shocks (the 250 dollar set) does wonders for handling too. Just FYI. I ran 36 front 38 rear for tire pressures on mine.
