Pretty much going to be able to raise your rev limit, and that’s about it without internal engine work. If that trips your trigger, go for it. Dyna makes good stuff. I have one of their compact dual tower coils on my XS. Sure wish they made that unit to work on the Road Star, but they don’t do them in lower resistance.

I’m running the 3000 on both my bikes. Rev limit went from 4250 stock, to 5000. As JD mentioned, that’s about it unless you mess with the internals like HC Pistons etc. The extra rev room is wonderful. You can get 4750, using a 1700 Ignitor. It’s plug and play, and no switches to mess with.

You can also adjust the timing to make it a little more responsive. I have one without regret. 4750 wasn't enough for my liking. You have an 06 so you are at 4750. If you like to play a little when riding and hit the rev limit often you will enjoy the extra when going to 5000 RPM. If you ride easy all the time and almost never hit the rev limit at 4750rpm don't waste your money.

Hell, I don’t think I’ve hit my limiter yet on the ‘09 fuelie and they’re set back down @ the 4,250 level.

Pulls hard enough when short shifting for me.

I don’t think I’m missing too much.

You're not having any fun especially at 4250

I'm not sure what is available for a FI bike or if a Dyna 3000 would work. I haven't ever had the opportunity to work on one. I wonder if Deerkiller knows? He had a 2012

Edit: I just googled Dyna 3000 and if you look under fitment it list for fitting up to 09 Roadstar. so I guess you would be good to go with it.

No, as we have discussed here many times, the carbonated ones won’t work with a fuelie. The Cobra 2000FI or something like that is made for the fuelies, but few riders have been able to make them work and usually take them off and just run the stock ECU which works fine with modified intake and exhaust.

Been driving big diesels for 45 years, so I live in the 1,500 rpm range.

Down low is where I belong.
