Yes, that is the correct one. It should have the S in the part number.

I know this is an old thread, but since it just popped up, I thought I'd throw this out there... If you're considering *springs only* [and not using the emulators] I'd recommend the Progressive spring over the RaceTech.
I'd originally went with the Progressive spring on my 99 but more recently put the RaceTech on my 2006. Given all the extra work of the emulators, I figured I do that at a later time...
Well, the difference is pretty obvious. With springs alone, the RaceTech has noticeably more front end dive under braking... So much so, that I'm seriously considering removing the Progressive springs from my 99 and putting them in my 06 until I'm ready for the emulators.
From all I understand, the RaceTech springs WITH emulators are by far the superior set up, but with *springs alone* Progressive does the job better.
So just something to consider if you're looking to minimize front end dive and improve handling on the cheap and easy.

If you are correctly preloaded and are using the correct spring rate that should not be the case. Although simply putting in 10 or 15w oil is far from ideal damping, you should be enjoying a substantially improved ride and more stable handling. Something is not right with your Race Tech spring installation.

It's definitely better than stock, no question, but as a spring only mod, it does dive more than my 99 with the Progressive spring. Eventually I'll get around to putting in the emulators, but the idea of having to drill out my cartridges was enough to make me put it off until a later date.

Doc, I went with the Racetech springs(spring rate based off of Race Tech's site) on my 05 and went with 10w fork oil and set the spring preload to jd's recommendations. I just put a Tsukayu front fairing on and I think the front end handles much better. Maybe we could meet up on a Saturday and you can see how it rides.

Hey Michael the bike is looking good!
I basically did the same as you. We'll have to give the swap a try; if anything, it's an excuse to meet up and get some riding in.
BTW, does anyone know the size of the washers used for the spacers? Maybe a little more preload might help.

Thanks for the info. Do you happen to know the OD? I suppose I could eyeball it, but just thought I'd ask around before heading to the hardware store.

The Dia. of the spacer is 1/14" so you should be good with a 1 1/2" fender washer
