OD Indicator Light 4 Years, 1 Month ago  
Hi,
Anyone know what Year the Overdrive Indicator light was first installed ? Was this Overdrive indicator light installed only on Asia / European Models ?

HI,
Overdrive light is located on the meter panel.
1 of My bikes is a US Model Speed- O is in MPH yr2000 and does not have the OD 5th gear Indicator light .

The other bike Yr 2001 is an Asia /European ? Model Speed-o is in KLM and has the OD 5th gear indicator light.

I buy all of my Yamaha parts from the US Dealers and have them shipped over to Me here in Singapore.I have been working here in Singapore for the last 6 + Years . My Bikes are at My home in Thailand. I will look and see if I have pics of Speed-O (meter housing per Yamaha parts) and post them.

Hi Ironman does your bike have the OD Indicator , is it a US Model and what year is Your Bike .

Might be.

I'll keep that in mind. Might be able to figure out how to wire that dadgum thing if I ever need it.

Yeah, the OD light wouldn't be on the US speedo anyway. And to answer his first question, since yours is a '99 then they must have been on the bikes over there from the beginning.

If the OD switch wire is the same color all the way up then it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Edit: Sorry, my mistake, yours is a 2000.
