Both of my front master cylinders (1700's) have a 14 stamped on the front. Does that help?

that is what makes me think its 14mm and i seen on another thread someone said 14mm but thats only about 9/16" seams small for dual disk unless it has a longer travel i was looking at a 5/8" or 11/16"

Are you trying to determine if the H.D. master will work properly?

Ok so i will go with a 9/16 or 5/8 Master. 9/16" is almost a perfect match to ours but if i get a good deal i will get a 5/8.

Pretty sure the 1700 is actually 14mm and the 1600 is 5/8". With you using a single 6 piston caliper, it kinda changes things a little but either size should work ok, I think.

Re:master cylinder bore size question. 4 Years ago
thats different 14mm is just under 9/16 on two 4 piston calipers. why would the 1600 use a larger bore on two 2 piston calipers so confused!! i agree though i think 9/16 or 5/8 will be fine.

I think JD could probably explain how the sizing works on master cylinders. I just know that the 1600 is bigger than the 1700.
