What about having them cast? Sure is a hell of a lot cheaper and WAY easier to mass produce. And I'd bet you'd sell a bunch of unfinished if you offered it. ...And this is just a thought, because I have no idea what the actual cost is, but what about casting some in either aluminum or even stainless? They could be polished, instead of chromed. Would that be any cheaper? I'd buy one unfinished and polish it myself if it was significantly cheaper. …Just throwing ideas out there.

Since Smokes said he wasn't going to make them since USAF's son made some and he was waiting to get them back from being chromed....all I want to know is how much...chromed or raw....I don't have a lot of money but these are something I really want....

I need to see what cost plus time is. Keep in mind its hours of work, chrome, shipping 3 times (to chrome shop, back to me, and then to you) metal to make it, and welding supplies. Lots more than just bending a pipe and shipping it out. I want it to be affordable but i want some money out of it too.

I understand your cost I was mostly talking about the others that are mass produced. I know yours are hand made and will cost more. BTW I am good with a unfinished one as I will most likely black it out. If you want to sell any like that let me know how much.
FYI they were never mass produced, All were painstakingly made by people with the skills and time to make a beautiful piece of chrome that is for aesthetics only, i dont think any of them made a living making the grab bar. Anybody with any fab skills will attest to this, Mort

You hit the nail right on the head. Lots of work for little gains. There's no real money to be made with these going the route by fabrication.

Landon,
even the batch being made now is still pretty but has reduced labour in the weld area to keep the price under 200.00, building up the welds and grind & polish to look seamless is very labour intensive but makes it a show piece, mort
