Conflicted. Which one?* 2 Months, 4 Weeks ago
2 good buys. I think. One or the other is coming home with me.

2005 61k on the clock, 1 owner, tons of extras, hard leather bags plus Silverado bags, cobra and v&h pipes, high perf breather and standard windshield and fairing along with tons of others stuff
$1,500.00

2006 7,400 miles, one owner, bub shorty exhaust, stripped to bare essentialsno extras but pristine shape $3,500.00

I am conflicted. Wish I could buy both. I'm sure I can buy either one for less than asking price

That’s easy. The 05. Strip it, sell the parts and have your $ back.

You're probably right. With only 61K on the bike, it isn't even broken in yet.
Only thing is, it's 3 hours away. The 06 is 30 minutes away

I'm with Shores on this one...the 05 is the better deal for flipping. I spotted that 06 the other day and have it tagged in my favorites just because it's in such good shape and the price is right. Seeing as how it was clear across the country I hesitated trying to make a deal on it cause it's too hard for me to get to.

In case no one has noticed, the bottom is falling out of the used Road Star market. There are deals like this everywhere. How long has this one been for sale for $1500.00? Waiting until spring would help, but then it'll be another year model older and worth even less. Now is not the time to try flipping Road Stars at any price. The FI bikes are still holding a little value, but it's only a matter of time for them as well. You could easily end up owning it or taking a loss.

Not looking to flip, just a fun bike for local riding. Which ever one I get will be setup as a solo rider. I love my RSV for long 2 up riding, but would prefer another RS for blasting around by myself.

It's not just Road Stars that the bottom is falling out on. It's pretty much across the board with all bikes. Try putting your Harley on the market and see how long it sits there at a slight loss let alone losing your shirt just to get rid of it.

Both these bikes went up for sale just before Thanksgiving. Although I talked to both sellers, I haven't been able to hook up with either one of them as I went to DC for the holiday and just got back this afternoon. I was on the bus ride home from the airport when I posted this today.

Gonna see both in the next couple of days. Staring to think that I might just buy both of them and play mix and match.

That's a good solution, right there. No more being conflicted!

Two bikes are better than one. A solo lone wolf bike, and a family fun bagger. Also, if one bike is being worked on, you always have a back up.
