Hello All!
Glad I found this site. I've been riding 33 yrs. and recently bought an 05 road* midnight silverado off e-bay. I really like it. My first cruiser bike. Really Nice. I live in the DFW area of Texas so if any others in here ever wanna cruise around, give me a holler.
Matt

Hey Everyone,

I just signed up and thought I'd say "HI". My name's Ty and I'm in Newark, Ohio. I just bought my first bike...an 05 Midnight Star and rode it home in March. I have about 600 miles on it so far. It came with a Stage II Performance Kit on it, as well as some billet parts (ball milled mirrors, fender accents, shift linkage, shifters), flamed drive cover, star logo air filter cover, fat T bars, chrome grips. I don't have a pic yet (just cell phone), but I can tell I'm gonna need one. I've found it's more comfortable (longer, roomier) and fits better than any Harley I've sat on. Runs and sounds awesome. I'm looking forward to learning a lot more about it. I found this site as I was searching for an answer to why it backfires now and then, as I'm slowing down, coasting towards a slow turn and I blip the throttle a bit. I thought it might have something to do with the performance kit or more specifically the carb jet kit that went in with it. I don't know jack about it (YET).

I look forward to talking with you all and getting to know you.
Thanks,
Tbone
(by the way...Ty is short for Tyrone (after Tyrone Powers)(glad to get that out of the way)....thus...Tbone)

OK Ty but what's the bone for.

Welcome to the Clinic and you may also want to check out the R* Riders Forum on Delphi.

Get out of the habit of blipping the throttle. The bike doesn't like it and tends to cough out of the carb.

As for the backfires ... does it actually backfire or cough out the pipes?

Thanks Doc,

Tbone just started getting thrown out there for those that called me Tyrone. I just kinda happened. But mostly, I go by Ty.

Hey thanks already for the advice....I really don't know if it is in fact a backfire or coughing out of the pipes. I'll have to pay more attention. I'm sure I just love to hear that seet sound and when the clutch goes in, it get's so quiet. I have noticed that it likes to be rolled on more so than quickly.
