Well my Baron's AIS removal kit got here today... and we got a rattle can of a reasonably blue metallic paint. So I guess the next warm sunny day, I get to learn more about my bike by taking her apart
I also got my tax return, and am seat shopping... I think I will probably be going with E.D. seats, since I can try it before the purchase is permanent. This is a long shot but if anyone out there has a used set of E.D. standard or the one that puts you lower/forward they want to sell, send me a PM. =)
got to wait til this rain goes by though... pretty mucky out there right now.

Just the trunk. I don't mind it black, but blue metallic is better, even if it isn't a perfect match to my impact blue
just waiting on some sunshine... probably next weekend lol be taking her apart instead of riding...

My ed big touring was the best money i spent so far. Have fun with that rattle can just take your time. I would do a light wet sand of the trunk before i sprayed it. Helps the paint stick a little easier.

I ordered the E.D. standard seat so that it puts me lower in the bike, maybe my feet will touch the ground now when I stop
As for the paint work... I am very spoiled, I am married to a painter lol so while I am puttering with my AIS removal, Toby will give the trunk a light wet sand and do the painting for me
The AIS project is all mine though... looks pretty straight forward, and I might even figure out how to take off that fugly charcoal canister at the same time LOL altho that may have to wait until I am sure I have any and all little plugs or what have you. JD mentioned something about the roll over valve ... I better find out where that is and what it is.

Hmmmm... That didn't take you long at all. The rollover valve has nothing to do with the AIS it's for the tank vent in case you rollover to keep fuel from leaking out of the tank vent. of course it won't do anything to stop fuel from leaking out of the gas cap if you rollover.
The AIS kit http://www.baronscustom.com/catalog/display/526/index.html is just a couple of plates plus a nipple for the manifold

My experience with the AIS removal was simply this.... Those two places where those hard chrome lines attach to the jugs? Once those are removed you can simply remove everything that they're connected to.... And yes, the charcoal canister is part of it.... Just keep removing the "spaghetti" till it's all gone.... And make sure to plug that air inlet on top of the manifold really good
