Ahh well it had to happen *sigh* 3 Years, 2 Months ago
We pulled my Sapphire out of the bike trailer to get to toby's bike so we could pull his ECU unit. I got his ECU out just fine no worries no issues no problems (this is why he has me do the fiddly stuff lol)

We were pulling my girl back into the trailer when the wooden ramp we use split and she started slipping on the ramp end and went sideways... Toby did his best but everything was working against him and she wound up on her right side just far enough to trigger the lean angle kill switch.

Poor Toby weighs 132 lbs soaking wet with sand in his pockets and there is no way he was going to be able to hold up 800lbs of bike... he kept her from going completely horizontal and I got under her and started hefting using the passenger back rest. tricky to get her upright in mud and wet grass, on a slope... I Had him make sure the kickstand was down before we started, and then held her up while he got a board to put under the kickstand...

we fixed the ramp then took stock. She is fine, started right up. Some pretty nasty scratches on the lower edge of the hard bag on that side that will need fixing but other then a bit of mud here and there, she will be fine. I was more worried about him hurting his back trying to keep her from touching mud... told him to just gently let her go she would only go so far.

So I have paid my yearly dues to the scratch n dent God... Toby was upset, muttering about scratching up my new baby. I told him same thing he tells me when I worry about scratching his baby "We can fix it, shit happens"

Now he is sitting there muttering "your bike is $&%*ing heavy... " lol I did mention that to him when we bought her

Sucks, but at least no none was hurt. If I have to hear about someone's bike going over, I'd much rather hear it didn't involve someone going down with it. Scratches can be fixed.

Sorry to hear it happened, but glad it wasn't any worse. I dropped mine in the driveway last summer and didn't even need a broken ramp to do it. Glad neither of you hurt yourselves picking her up.

Sorry, no one likes to have their pride and joy scratched up, but glad you weren't riding when it hit the ground, as barmandr said too.

That sucks Silkentech. Make sure Toby gets plenty of hot pads and aspirin for his aches he's going to experience later. Our bikes are definitely up there in weight!!!

Scratches are nothing a decal can't cover up. Figure something out and let me know if I can help.

Glad it was no worse.

yeah I have the rubbin' oil and icyhot ready lol, gave him a muscle relaxer and later on this afternoon will make him some hot chocolate with some holiday cheer in it

Thanks to a lifetime of moving hay by the ton, I am fairly good at lifting heavy things without hurting myself.

I have also been very grateful that for the most part, when I have had to pay my 'dues' in the way of falling over or dropping my bike lol it has usually been in the driveway or when parked (like when I fell over at my son's house and knocked his bike over too LOL)

Toby says he will never let me go anywhere by myself on Sapphire because I would never get her back up by myself if I dropped her. I told him I do not PLAN on dropping her... ever... hopefully... pretty much... *laughs*

Anyway, I agree, scratches can be fixed, sore bodies can be rubbed, and now she has little battle scars so maybe the 'hey it's new, it needs a ding or two' gnomes will leave us alone for a while.
