TACH QUESTION ??? 2 Years, 5 Months ago
Is a 2013 Road Star a single fired ignition same as the earlier carbed bikes ? I see some tacks have a adapter that come with them for a single fire bike. Is what you need to tap into easily accessible ? Can you get accsess to your connection by just raising the tank?

You install a tach by wiring it up to one of the coil lead wires. The other wires include ground and switched power. Simple connection.

Anyone wanting to run an electronic, mini tach and have risers, this is a a nice setup for a decent price.

Edit.

GD! Looking over that picture I just took I noticed the keys were still in the ignition and turned to ON.

That was from two days ago when I killed engine from down the street and coasted up the drive trying to be stealth.. Didn't work. Better half saw me out the window and let the two labs 'the girls' out to greet me.

Forgot one procedure after I stopped..

On the charger as I type. Hope the battery comes back.. Finally, no rain tomorrow and I wanna ride to work.
