help with fuel line from pump to petcock 4 Months, 1 Week ago
Helping a friend here replace this line. His seat post pinched a leak. The line looks like one of those formed lines with some rather tight bends. I checked one oem parts distributor and they don't carry it. I think it was starpartshouse.

Does anyone have another place to try? And does anyone know if this is a pre-formed line. I can't tell if it is.. or has just set into that shape from the passing of 17 years!

it is a shaped line and a bit hard to make, so take the opportunity to remove the pump ! get a new needle and seat and away he goes, probably be cheaper than that hose

Good advice. I probably should talk to him about going pumpless. Yamaha has those fuel hoses crowded around the oil fill and in the way of the tins etc. It would clean things up a lot and be one less thing to break or go out. I'll search the forum for the needle and seat numbers unless someone has them handy.

boats.net sells the needle and seat 3.5 or 4 mm hole, mine is 3.5 and a few other shops on line sell them, I think I paid about $20 delivered to Australia, from there its a bit of fuel hose and some time

The line that comes off the tank goes to the inlet side of the filter and is part #5VN-24311-00-00, Then there is another line that goes from the outlet side of the filter to the pump inlet and is part #4WM-24312-00-00. If you buy both lines it will be about $10. I looked them up at "Powersports Discount" (Formerly Honda East Toledo) They are listed with the fuel tank.#28 and 33 of the fuel tank parts fiche.

Thank you both. I'll see which direction he wants to go. I so appreciate the timely responses.

Dave, I also need the line that goes from the outlet of the pump to the carb.

Do you happen to know that one? Can you confirm... is it 4WM-14987-00-00
?

I think that is the correct line from the carb inlet to the steel line that goes between the cylinders. most just replace with a 5/16 rubber fuel line and eliminate the steel line. Doing that helps eliminate the possibility of carb puke.

This is the one I need a part number for... looks like it's connected to the outlet side of the pump.

That pump has been relocated to under the seat. None of the OEM part numbers will be the correct fuel lines. That is some kind of an aftermarket relocation kit or something someone just did themselves.
