#679659 Damselfly (User) Junior Boarder Posts: 125 Considering a K&N; replacement air filter 4 Years, 6 Months ago   During this winters lay-up I'm considering replacing the OEM filter with a K&N. Has anyone drilled their backing plate to increase flow into the airbox/filter? All replies are appreciated. Fresh Boarder Posts: 66 Re:Considering a K&N; replacement air filter 4 Years, 6 Months ago   The gentleman I bought my 'Star from did install a K&N filter...threw in a new cleaning kit etc...but I will say this...be prepared to see your gas go fast when you get on it. Please explain...I actually got better gas mileage when I put mine in and also seemed to get better throttle response.
