Pegs are fine but not forward controls. I know some people swear by them, but look at the facts: Your legs are in front of you where you can't use them to help absorb any road shock. The bottoms of your feet are facing into the wind, so the faster you go, the harder the wind is trying to blow your feet off the pegs. It's a constant struggle to keep your feet on the pegs, which wears your legs out faster. For me, the floorboards on the Roadstar are mounted too far forward, that,s one reason I went with the Strat floorboards, they are longer and I'm able to get my feet under me better. I tried forward controls when I was younger 'cause they look cool, and I couldn't wait to get rid of them. Look at the serious long-range touring bikes like Goldwings, they come with pegs mounted slightly forward of the hips. That is the best place to have your feet.

I really need some foot rests but dont have any highway bars on my bike to attach them to. Do they make long frame mounted ones? anyone got a link to some or better yet a set collecting too much dust? [/quote]

I have no link for you but I have seen some mounted to the boards before. Maybe someone else knows what they are called.

New to Roadstars and it's my first bike with floorboards (and a heal shifter).
I wouldn't want them on every type of bike but on this one they're great.

My highway/crash bar had pegs mounted on them but I took them off because the top of the bar has footrests already on them.

Floorboards, can't feel my feet so I know they will stay on the boards I think with pegs I would have a better chance of them falling off onto the pavement. Ken
