I have received an extraordinary number of earnest inquiries from members, both here and from FB, asking what kind of options the community has to keep the clinic in some modified form. I need a couple of days to get a good set of options together for everyone to review, then I can put them up here for consideration and discussion.

If we find enough people are interested in participating, we may find a plausible option. It will be different but should be something the community can eventually take ownership of and work together to maintain. The question will come down to whether or not it is worth it in the end, but everyone should at least get a chance to review, discuss, and potentially coordinate.

All options will have to be sans me relatively soon (for the reasons I already shared), so will be presented that way.

We do have a responsibility to honor the contributions of our members, and keep them available from a trustworthy source, if at all possible. So I will reach deep and act as the community's technical consultant for the first round. Please stay tuned, I will present what I can in a couple of days.

In the meantime, know that everyone wants to keep the comradery that has grown here, communication among friends, and access to archives of content about their bikes. Be prepared to step up and participate. Only you can represent you. So please take ownership of that.

This community has never been "mine", or something that has belonged to the staff. And it was never intended to be. So lets just see if together we can come up with some reasonable options, and some type of member structure that can take over and really, just "own" the clinic. That is what it should be, something that belongs to everyone.

Just in case anyone is seeing $$$$ in their minds, sure there will be some of that. But only to the degree that the members can agree on. The clinic needs to be sustainable to continue.

More to come, please bear with me. We will all soon have something we can discuss and options to consider. I have no desire to keep, or own, this data or community. It is yours for the taking. We just need a plausible and executable plan.

Thankyou for giving it a last look Gram. If you come up with something viable, that will offer the same result for you, it would be great. I think there are enough techie types on here who'll manage to save as much as needed or is possible to preserve the technical information shared on RSC, and find a way to disperse it when the need arises, if no good options are available. Where there is a will, the way usually can found. Almost like "Field of Dreams", but ...different.
I'm not one of those techie types. I've avoided FB like the plague, but if I had to find something out, I could probably force myself.

You may not think of RSC as your's, but you have been a soild foundation stone for the duration. In a world of constantly evolving technology, what you and the others created, has certainly stood the test of time.

I'm totally non-technical, so I can't be of any technological help.

That said, one of the key things I like about this forum is that the actual format and esthetic appearance and ease of use is HUGE. I've joined other forums in the past, and rapidly lost interest just because they weren't "attractive" and/or user friendly.

This has been the very best on both of those counts since day one when I signed up. If there's any way to maintain the great looks and ease of use, I'd like to be some kind of part of preserving the Clinic... and, if it could actually be improved upon, something I can't see... then, so much the better!

I'm not any big FB fan, though I am on the "clinic" there, but it just doesn't do anything for me like this place has these past 10+ years.

I'm bettin' others feel the very same.
