Saddle For Sale 1 Year ago
Fellas, in keeping with my NO-budget, ALL-expenses spared '04 Rat Bobber Build. I have been de-contenting it and selling stuff off to entirely pay for whatever I do to the thing.

So, I have its saddle for sale. There's NO brand on it, but someone will recognize and ID it. Is it a Mustang? In any case:

For Sale: 1 Solo-Rider Saddle of very good manufacture, and in very good condition. I'd naturally like all I could get for it, and I'm asking $200 with shipping included in that number... which tends to run about $25 to $30. But, if I can't get a $200 offer, I'll let it go for the best offer anyone here on the Clinic makes. Fair enough?

If you're wanting to go solo, or score a saddle to change yours over from time to time just because you can... please, help me fund my bobber build! TIA

I've got a first offer of $150. I'd hate to let it go for that, and pay the shipping too.

Well, I would bid on it, but I really don't have the money right now. I really don't like that style of seat either, and, I'm OK with the seat I have now. But, besides all that, I would bid on it.

I might be wrong (I've been wrong before), but I believe that seat was sold by Yamaha. Not sure who it was built by. Had a seat like this on my '00 when I bought it & the dealer told me it was sold thru the "SpeedStar" line.

Someone else has also gotten back to me and said it was sold by Yamaha through their dealers. It's clearly some kind of aftermarket made seat.

Anybody interested? I'm hoping to do better than the $150 offer I have... while I pay ship!

Saddlemen made one like that called the 'Profiler' but they usually didn't come to such a sharp point in the back.
Generally pretty comfortable seats if you want a firm support gel seat & they weren't real expensive.

Mustang also made similar seats and like the Saddlemen, they were usually more square at the rear than yours.

Corbin made seats for Yamaha & specifically for the Star brand called the 'Stinger' that looks an awful lot like that one.
If it were a Corbin though, there should be a Corbin tag on it or have Corbin carved right in the underside of the pan.

Danny Gray also made some Custom Star seats for Yamaha & sold in dealers through the Star Custom catalog.
I don't see anything on their website that looks like that but it's been a while since I've seen one so ... maybe, or not.

Without some way to positively ID it I'd think $150~$200 shipped is a fair price.

This fits in here, right? I mean, I can make this fit in here ... right?

Re:Saddle For Sale 1 Year ago
I have the Saddlemen on another R*, and this is definitely not one of them. Two have said it was sold directly thru Yamaha. It's plenty comfortable. I have no complaints about that... it's just that it came on this '04 I bought, and since I'm making it a bobber, it's not staying on the bike. I'm only selling it to continue to fund the project.

I agree my price is fair... it's just that so far I've only got one offer of $150, my ship. I'll give it a little more time, and if I can't get a better offer, I may let it go at $150 on me, but I'm not inclined to go with it yet.
