Btw I ordered baffle for my exhaust.
To quiet down and hope get some back pressure to gain torque

Also AIS had been removed.

I'm no carb guru by a longshot but I wouldn't bother jetting until you decide on how you want your baffles to sound and decide on an intake you plan on keeping. Most of us either use a K&N filter that fits in the stock airbox or go with a full K&N airbox/filter setup (or something like it). These engines like to get a little more air than stock no matter what kind of airbox or filter you use.

If you only do pipes and use the stock intake with a stock paper filter in it, I'm not sure you'll get any benefit from rejetting since the stock filter is a little bit of a bottleneck. Open both ends of your engine's airflow though and it's pretty much a requirement to rejet.

This fits in here, right? I mean, I can make this fit in here ... right?

I vote #1 if you like the look of the HC. It's easy enough to just use it as a regular air cleaner.
#2 would be my next choice. Both 1 and 2 require jetting, and I recommend the Barons kit, and a 37.5 Mikuni Pilot jet which is not in the Barons kit.
If you do #2, you'll need a K&N stock replacement filter, to get the most out of the motor.

I read HC is rather more complicated to find good setting.
Can you school me how to use HC as just regular air filter?
About HC looks. This is came with bike and I am ok with it.
If I buy new,I think I will choose baron k&n kit. I think call BAC?

Where can I buy mikuni. 37.5 MJ?
Also if this good MJ is not included what is the benefit to purchase baron jet kit?

Thanks.

Sorry not MJ. PJ so make sense.

Where can I buy mikuni 37.5 PJ?

The HC housing is just a cover for the air cleaner/filter. If it has the vacuum operated butterflies, I'd simply disconnect and plug the vacuum line going to the manifold, and rig the butterflies so they stay open.
Since yours still has the stock 35 Pilot, and 165 main(1600), the 37.5 Pilot works better. Barons doesn't include the Pilot in their kit, and the DJ 37.5, that Dyna jet includes in theirs, doesn't flow anymore fuel then the Mikuni 35.
The kit will include the main jet you'll want, as well as the multi grooved needle, and various other things like Allen head screws for the bowl, and the stuff needed to gain access to the PMS screw to tweak your idle mix. Instructions come in the kit, as far as how to do stuff, as well as jetting suggestions.
With the HC, or modified stock box(poor man's BAK), I'd do the 37.5 Pilot. The 167.5 main(or 170 with those pipes). Set the PMS at 2 3/8 turns out, from lightly seated, and ride it to see how you like it. Also, keep the idle speed close to 900rps. The bike runs and starts better with the idle set correctly.

Thank you very much for very nice advice.

I Will try your recommendation setting.

Just make sure.

1) not much different between HC vs HC-pro right? Advertised as larger filter surface area and supported to get 50% more air on HC pro.

2) 170 main jet is for straight pipe which I have now. Or cobra shotgun with baffle?

I have never changed jetting on sports bike or naked bike, but I heard some cruiser guys change jetting depends on season (especially air cooled v twin) can I ride same jetting year around if I set it up now? I am Atlanta GA area.

The HC style air box, will allow more then enough air flow, regardless of the filter size.
I'd use the 170 with either.
You can use the same jetting year around. Some may tweak the PMS a little richer in the colder weather.

Thank you so much.

Just place order for Barron jet kit.
And now getting Mikuni 37.5 pilot jet.

Looks like there are 2 type of 37.5 pilot jet ( actually more than 2 several different type)
Which one works on roadstar 1600 carb?

N151.067. No on side

BS30/96-37.5. Few holes on side.

Tried to search "Mikuni 37.5 pilot jet parts number" here but did not find answer.

I have this new to me RS about 2 weeks and put on about 500miles but I thought it is what it is.
hope correct jetting with my RS set up improve the more torque feel from big 1600cc v twin.
