I have a K&N in a modified box with big holes in the black plastic. Thank you Autozone. $42 and change. I'm going to fabricate a mounting bracket, and either hide the idle adjuster, or snap it in the mount as per some other genius here. Oh, and my K&N lettering is dead on straight! No need to cover it, unless I want to! K&N has covers for these. Before I changed to the K&N filter, mine would die in the rain anyway... The only time I had a problem was when the bike was parked and a heavy downpour rolled in and rained for about 20 minutes. I used a 2 hour parking sign in aluminum to make my mounting bracket, and attached the idle speed adjuster like someone else here did. I'm so happy with my work. Does the K&N logo stick up from the lid or is it recessed? 2. What's the diameter of the inner ring on the chrome top plate? Was just about to order a MaxAir filter, but like the looks of this as well and the price can't be beat.
