So it's not a ringing metallic noise, more of a duller clacking noise?

Aside from a lot of metallic things that could be doing that, an intake or exhaust leak could also make a noise that sounds like metal things being slapped around. Could even be detonation from extra fuel under WOT firing in the hot exhaust header.

I think I'd try upping the octane of your fuel for one tank. One tank with too-rich gas won't foul things up much but if it quiets it down you could be on the right track.

Have the pushrods & valves ever been adjusted or inspected? With the head covers off you should be able to turn the pushrods with your fingers & feel some drag but not have much if any clearance.

I would seriously check your front belt pulley. They have a history of coming loose and might could cause the noise you're talking about.
