that´s kind of ironic considering how opposing opinions are shouted down here.

Seeing how muzzled the public is about critizing the crown in Spain I can see why you seek so hard to express yourself about American politics.
Seems they treat any distaste towards their government a terrorist threat.

So free speech only applies to US citizens?! Gotta say that is probably the dumbest and most arrogant comment I've seen in a long time.
Went right over your head didn't it?

There's plenty of stupidity on display since the election - which is why I likely won't be visiting the US any time within the next four years - the level of vitriol, hatred and stupidity (from both sides) is unbearable.
Maybe time to set up a Canadian meet up, where cooler heads will prevail

If you want to come on down to Mississippi, I can write you a note that will get you in the state. I don't know if it will count for much between here and there, but my favorite Canadian will always be welcome down here.

obviously you have gleaned this misinformation from some blog that promotes silly ideas about Europe.
the press, tv and most satirical magazines here criticise both the monarchy and government mercilessly with no repercussions
but that misconception doesn´t surprise me, nor is it the first, as an example I've had many a reply to my comments both here and in other places asking how our socialist government is working out when we have had a conservative government for quite a few years now, and has just been re-elected.

oh! the stuff introduced by the PP!
no probs, but is doesn´t cover criticism of the government or monarchy
some of it makes sense, some is debateable, and others is simply reiterating what was existing under franco.
but free speech per se remains largely unchanged...though promoting ETA or ISIS will get your collar felt.

Your countries "conservatives" does not equal our countries "conservatives".
You still have a Monarchy that is primarily socialist democracy. The US is a representative republic, NOT a true democracy.
What I don't understand is why you even CARE what our country does as it really does not effect you or your country.
Why would you waste your time, or is it just envy?

Oh stop it. I hope to see ya in Celina just like every other year except I wasn't at the last one. There has been more vitriol and hatred and stupidity in my country (and division) over the last 8 years than ever before in my lifetime. Certainly since the 50's and 60's and of course there is always the example of our civil war. Race relations in our country have degraded and some of the blame can be directly laid on Obama. The divide between people who actually work and contribute and people who are just on the take is bigger than ever. People are pissed off about it and showed up to vote against the Obama doctrine that would be largely continued by an elderly, out-of-touch, shrill, nasty Hillary. Trump just happened to be smart enough to capatilize on the buildup of emotion from the people who actually make our country work. That's it. Come on down and I'll buy ya a drink at the Eagles club and life will look no different for either of us. Guys like us will continue to do what we do and work for our living and not much will change.
